My faithful Lenovo G570 last night following nearly 5 years of loyal service, I think it's the motherboard. It was £230 mega deal (i3-2310m, 4GB ram, 640GB, 6370M) at the time and I've since upgraded to SSD & another 2GB ram. I wasn't planning to upgrade it for quite a while as it was plenty fast enough for what I needed - mostly web browsing/office with a small bit of low intensity gaming (Football Manager). Now I have to buy, it seems little sense not to go full HD
The ask:
- No celerons
- Good quality 15.6" FHD screen
- <2kg (I can compromise on this but no fatties)
- Battery life 4+ hours
- Happy to go new, used, refurbished etc
- Not fussed re HDD as have 128gb SSD (enough storage for my needs as everything is on NAS)
- No need for an optical drive
- Also have 4GB DDR3 stick from Lenovo to transfer if necessary
Budget is £450 ideally, but would push this slightly for the perfect laptop/right screen.
My work laptop is an E7450 which is pretty much perfect in every way but the 14" screen is a tad too small. I haven't really kept up with laptop technology etc so appreciate all suggestions
