The delidding tool allows you to remove the top off the CPU without causing any damage. And your looking at a 20-30c under load temperature reduction by de-lidding.

It's good to see Intel have learned from their earlier mistakes

Well the EK pred is basically off the shelf custom cooling. I imagine this is replacing the paste inside with something like this. I got around a 10-15c drop on mine from what I remember.

Imo this is over priced for what is basically a maybe a once a year use at most to the average enthusiast, when its something that can be done using another method for nothing. It does take some of the risk out of it which maybe worth it for some or as above if you get through many chips. It is a niche product though which also carries a premium.

You can see a drop like that with air cooling, plenty of threads with people talking about delid chips, I'd just bang mine with a hammer and vice personally.

you mess up on 1 i7 or i5 cpu though and you are stuffed. unless you delid pentiums i say its worth it. you can sell in on the mm for £10 less or you could keep it for next time Intel use crap paste

Dunno how this sells when there's another tool that does same thing for half the price.

This is a great tool I delided a lot of CPU using it and can vouch for its quality.

Its the original and by far the best option.

I remember when this was first stocked and people were talking about chipping in and passing it round the forums.

Did that ever materialise?

Don't think so.

I dont have balls to do it myself. Although my 4770k running at 4.5 @1.267v runs quiet cool 70 with h100i. I wished someone would offer to do it for me
