I've got some sockets in an outbuilding that I'd like to use to extend our WiFi to the garden. Are there any powerline sockets that have wireless repeats inbuilt or would I need both, and either way any recommendations for something basic that'll just get the job done?

Sort of. They tend to be power line adapters that act as wireless access points rather than repeaters. There's no need to halve the coverage like a repeater does if you've got the power line bit to go back to the main network.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/tp-l...nder-starter-kit-tl-wpa4220kit-nw-103-tp.html for example.

If you want the same effect as a repeater then name it with the same SSID/password but on a different channel to whatever you currently use for wifi access.

One point to note, make sure that the electrical circuit to the external power is on the same ring as wherever you're going to plug into your house. Often outbuildings have their own rings and fuse boxes and power line won't work in that instance.
