1920*1080 (120Hz) but I also have nvidia 3D Vision which requires 50-100% extra GPU power for the same framerates.

Also if I upgrade from my 970 to a 1070 it'll be with half an eye on VR, should it become cheaper and get some decent games.

looks like the 2560x1440 is the new norm

For enthusiasts on an overclocking forum perhaps, I still think it will be a very long time before 1080p is eclipsed.

I feel that 1440p will be a bit of a niche resolution in years to come as people skip it and just jump from 1080p to 2160p, fueled largely by TV and consoles.

Only 1.20% game at 1440p (That can be right... )

Didn't think hardly anyone would still be PC gaming at only 1080p..(1 was gaming at 1200p 10 years ago)

bit arrogant saying dont you think? given that a lot of content is in 720p & 1080p then why would you assume people would be needing 120hz and beyond to view it? i use a 1920x1080@60hz, i also now have a 1440x900@60hz that i will use as a secondary as i no longer have 2 identical monitors and im back to being able to dual screen again.

family member has a curve 4k over 50" tv and while its nice, it doesnt shout 'oh i must play games at 4k as it be awesome'..

:D

Think I must be the only nutter in here that's went 1080p to 1440p and back again to 1080p.:D

Lad was wanting bigger and as FreeSync was launching, went 1440p FreeSync-loved the FreeSync, but we all couldn't get into it at all and went back to 1080p but after trying FreeSync got a Predator 1080p G-Sync this time and I couldn't be happier.:)

*Anyone thinking of changing panels-can't stress this enough, if you have to, push the boat out and go Free/G-Sync*

16:10 ratio panels aren't really made as much any more. Think there may be a few Eizo ones though, but they are really targeted at photo editing only.

It's cheaper to manufacture 16:9 panels across the board, meaning cheaper screens for us, so even though it's an inferior aspect ratio, a lot of people settle for it because it's better value for them. ;)

16:9 is best for TV, though. So... if you're mostly watching lots of TV on your monitor instead of gaming or productivity etc, then it's cheaper AND better. :D

There are still a few 16:10 screens out there - plenty of 30" 1600P screens if you look around (albeit at 60Hz and without Freesync/G-Sync), and a friend just picked up a Dell U2415 last month. I'm surprised so many gamers are settling for 16:9 instead of demanding better - usually we're up in arms over the smallest things! I wonder if many people simply haven't tried 16:10 and so they don't know.

wow. only 15% gaming on 1440p Ultrawide. The way people go on I thought 90% of the forum were on Ultrawides. I guess they are just more vocal about being on Ultrawide.

I would love to go ultrawide for certain games but I watch a lot of youtube and make my own videos and couldn't deal with the black bars at the side of the screen when watching/doing 16:9 video.

Maybe it's just for those CS:GO fanatics who have to have the extra screen and 144hz?
