Kaby Lake upgrade?

It's been a while since I upgraded but I thought best to wait on Kaby Lake. I have a 3570K with 32GB of DDR3 memory and a 980 GTX.

I'm expecting to buy a 7700K, 32GB of DDR4 (2x16) and not change the 980 GTX - and a new motherboard

Information on the desktop kaby lakes doesn't seem to be widely available, however I understand that they are still due this year.

I'd like to keep the memory but it's not low voltage, so going for a DDR3 board is out.

So that leaves me pretty much settled on things apart from the motherboard

Are there new motherboard chipsets coming for Kaby Lake or is it just what's here already, in which case a Z170?

Can't see that I've missed anything but I thought I'd check.

Yeah you'll want Z270 since it adds some features, and will support the next 2 sets of CPUs after Kaby Lake. Z170 support stops at Kaby Lake.

Also DDR4 is much better than DDR3 if you go for higher speeds, though you said you'll be changing anyway. I'd probably go for 3866 MHz since it's very affordable now.

That some applications and games are finally starting to take advantage of higher memory bandwidth.

Also the 7700k has been confirmed to be 4.2 GHz base and 4.5 GHz boost clock.
