Having just swapped out my previous SSD due to Windows corrupting itself I decided to treat my system to a larger SSD and thought I'd just see how the bench for this compared to the previous drive.

Vertex 4 256GB

Using about 10% of the drive after a fresh install of Windows 8 Pro 64 bit and Intel Rapid Storage AHCI driver v11.6.0.1030.

(Performed back in Nov 2012 using Crystal Disk Mark 3.0.2)

(Performed back in Nov 2012 using Atto Disk Benchmark)

Samsung EVO 850 500GB

Using about 5% of the drive since it's a larger drive than the one above. This was carried out after a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro 64 bit and Intel Rapid Storage AHCI driver v13.1.0.1058. No Samsung Rapid mode used or any over provisioning.

(Performed 24-05-16 using Crystal Disk Mark 5.1.2)

Will update with an ATTO bench when I receive their email to download the latest version.

Quite a nice boost in the reads and only a little lower on some of the writes, happy considering the value of these EVO 850's :)

Sorry mate, v4 and later benches are not comparable with v3 CDM results. You'll need to use v3 (available here) on your new SSD for a fair comparison.

Probably a good idea to use the same version of ATTO aswell.

Higher on everything than the old Vertex 4 :)

The Vertex cost me roughly 50% more and was half the size too!
