Crucial bx200 keeps disappearing

First ssd and trying to clone to the ssd but it keeps failing and saying disk not present.

Any help appreciated

Mechanical hdd on Sata and ssd on Sata 2, it's recognised in bios and initialised and formated in disk management but when I try to clone it it fails and the ssd isn't in my list of storage anymore and most times not in disk management

Could try different connecter/cable/power in case they are causing issues.

Have tried that, I'm limited to 2 Sata ports as the graphics card is covering the others

Some progress, acronis true image worked but would only copy all partitions so won't boot without w7 cd which went ages ago

If possible, back up the image to a usb drive. Remove the mechanical hdd so only the ssd is connected to sata. Boot acronis from usb/disc and restore the image from the usb drive to the ssd.

Having the mechanical drive connected at the same time has been known to cause issues.

Nothing I've tried is working, I have a hdd caddy somewhere so will try that
