best 4TB portable (2.5ij) drive (without power?)

from my searching i can only find 2 of this type of drive

im looking at getting the slightly more expensive seagate over the samsung

its about 15£ extra but comes with 200GB of one drive cloud storage for 2 years
this seems a pretty decent deal and may be the first cloud storage solution i can make use of - 50gb is just not enough nor is 6-12 months

before i get this..is this the best option or are there any ive missed?


FYI, im using this drive as an offsite backup for my pictures. i will keep it at work

You're rather limited on choice, as far as I'm aware all 3 (Seagate, Samsung, Maxtor) are the same drive inside, it's just the case and extras which are different.

I picked up the cheapest at the time, which was the Maxtor M3 @ £109

No complaints.

Have a look to see if any of them offer a particularly long warranty. I know WD offer 5 years on some of their portable range.

It does seem to be te same drive inside

got seagate in the end for 119
thought the 10 was worth it for 200gb for 2 years. hopefully that will suffice for a while
