Totally confused with ssd speeds!

Hey there i used Atto to check out my ssd speeds and was shocked!

Drive C is a samsumg 850 with Samsung Magic "Rapid Mode" enabled
Drive K is also an 850 and thought it would be a bit faster than the 2 below!
Drive G is an OCZ Vertex 3 <--- old lol
Drive H is an Intel something <--- even older lol




My question is how on earth is the C drive sooooo fast as it should be the same as DriveK or thereabouts. I was going to RAID0 them both but seems would be pointless??

Because rapid mode just uses your memory as cache

Rapid mode just gives fanciful numbers. Doesn't represent real world performance.

I have 2 x 250GB evos and i dont bother having rapid mode on.

Rapid mode uses PC resources for the better speeds, made no difference to me with this on or not so i left it disabled.

When you benchmarked the C drive you benchmarked your ram.

Don't bother RAIDing them. If you really need blistering write speed, then get an NVME drive, 3000MB/s. IE, for video editing or some super database.

You'll notice not difference between a RAID and non RAID setup if you're just using your PC for normal desktop and gaming.
