The Intel 600P which costs £284 has a read speed of 1800MB/s on the 1TB and the 960 Evo 1TB has a read speed of 3200MB/s which costs £469.99.

Question is, Would I actually notice the difference in speed in game and program loading times between the 2 ?

It would mainly be used for games.

You would be unlikely to notice the difference between them most of the time. Games may load a little quicker with the Samsung but not much.

For a new build I'm looking at an Intel 600p 256GB M.2 80mm PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD for £106, or a regular 250gb SSD for about £70.

With that M.2 being pcie rather than sata, the read write speeds seem to be through the roof, the mobo I'm, looking at supports this (Gen3 x4 M.2 Connector with up to 32Gb/s Data Transfer (PCIe NVMe & SATA SSD support))so any reason other than £30 extra cost not to go with the m.2?

Will be used as a ssystem drive.

Thanks
