Looking at gfx card upgrades and due to the case design I have I am limited in height of the card and with the power cables coming out the top often have to add some more on the cables.

So why are the power connectors that way round and not rotated through 90 degress so the power cables connect from the back of the card rather than the top?

Coming from the back means you need more clearance because of the cable and some cases have limited clearance.

Some older models did have the connectors coming out of the back, i know my 5850 did.
