One of my friends who is going through a very bad time health wise and financially was given a computer back in Dec 2015.

Recently she was complaining to me she wanted to go back to Win 7 from 10 as her PC was running very slow and was freezing up.

I got her to send me the specs of the machine and well it's got terrible specs but the key component I think is her issue is the fact it only has 1GB of ram.

The ram in the machine is currently PC2-4200U.

The machine it's self is a Compaq Presario SR2000.

I have some of this DDR2-800 ram spare which I don't need so was thinking of sending it too her.

She cant even afford to spend £22.50 on some ram from an online retailer.

I think it might work, but wanted to get opinions first.

It depends which of the SR2000 series it actually is. If it's an SR2000Z, it can only support 2GB RAM. Other models in the range support 4GB.
