Forgot how much a pain the old AMD heatsinks were when it came to removing it, the 12 year old TIM on the cpu was near enough gone and a build up of grease/dust was evident. Really not hard to see why heatpipe designs took off when you see how thick and heavy that big block of aluminium is!

The HDD was throwing up some errors, sounded like a grinder too so after getting to the desktop and trying to update steam and write to it, it started acting a little funny. None the less, that laptop you see in the first picture was what replaced my desktop back in thebday, and it's screen subsequently died.

Bit it turns out I did a fresh OS install just before it died so I'll be hooking that 2.5" 5400rpm speed demon of a drive up as a make shift measure to make sure nothing else is borked!

I did have a little laugh to myself at "SeaMonkey" browser... Old Skool
