I was initially thinking of a budget up to £300 to start with but I will stretch to £500 if the benefits worth it. Ideally looking for a 27" even though my specs are not great at the moment (I will upgrade when needed).
Still running a i5-2550k and a GTX680 if it helps. Current monitor is a prolite E2409hds which I've had too long so anything will be an upgrade lol.

Anyone? I've been away too long and there's just too much chose.
I was going to order the Dell S2417DG today but the prices have shot back up so at £599 it's a no. I also looked at the AOC AG271QG as I can pick one up locally for £550 but then I thought that it may be worth the extra and go for the Asus PG279Q. I have since been looking at 21:9 too but there's just too much choice.

Ideally I wanted to spend around £400 but I could stretch to the PG279 if its really worth it. I'll be adding a 970 or 1070 card soon as my current card will no doubt struggle.

Would you consider going with AMD and FreeSync? You could save a little. Or invest the savings in a more powerful AMD GPU.

Here are few FreeSync contenders, you can compare them to the G-Sync options, if/when any arise:

27", 1440p, 144Hz, IPS:
Acer XF270HU for £400
ASUS MG279Q for £480

27"/32", 1080p, 144Hz, VA, curved:
Acer XZ271 for £300
Acer XZ321Q for £430

27", 4k, 60Hz, IPS:
LG 27UD58 for £350

-----

35", 2560x1080, 160Hz/144Hz, VA, curved:
AOC C3583FQ for £500
Acer XZ350CU for £600

29", 2560x1080, 75Hz, IPS:
LG 29UM68-P for £260

29", 2560x1080, 75Hz, IPS, curved:
LG 29UC88 for £350

34", 2560x1080, 60Hz, IPS:
LG 34UM68 for £400

Thanks for that, there's a few for me to look at. I know nothing about gsync and free sync but with all the issues I had with amd in the past I will be sticking with nvidia cards.

I'd stick with that particular card. I've had lots of problems with Nvidia of late. Just about to sell and get something AMD.
