Cheap Android tablet for kids gaming?

Kids are old enough to use a tablet now.
I think 7" would be ideal, I stopped following the market since Nexus 7.


Can you recommend something decent with Google Play Store and fairly up to date, vanilla Android and at least 32GB storage (or expandable via SD)?

I don't want Kindle Fire - too locked down for my liking.

Buy a kindle fire and install a fresh rom to get rid of the Amazon stuff. For £30 and at most an hour of your time they're a bargain.

My girls are still using their Hudl 2s almost 2 years later great value for money given their longevity in my household.

Get a kindle fire and bang the latest cyanogen android rom on. Easily best tablet for the money then
