Hi all,

I would like to buy my son age 9 laptop for Xmas, he doesn't need anything major as he uses the PS4 for more demanding games, however he will use it for movie editing and Steam Games.

My wife says spend £550 max but I will go to £850.

I have narrowed is to these, though any different suggestions will be great!

MSI GL62 6QD-408UK £800
- Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad Core Processor
- 15.6" Full HD Screen
- 16GB DDR4 RAM
- 128GB SSD + 1000GB HDD
- Dedicated GeForce GTX 950M 2GB Graphics

or

Dell Inspiron 7559 £750
- Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ Processor
- 15.6" Full HD Screen
- 16GB DDR4 RAM
- 128GB SSD + 1000GB HDD
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M (4 GB GDDR5)

Thanks

Iain

In my opinion, the dell as frankly price to performance is more important than...ermmm, not sure what the MSI offers that the dell doesn't (assuming the laptop can cool itself properly with no thermal throttling).

The Dell for sure as the graphics card performance is a fair bit more, there is no GTX960M 10 series replacement available yet (the GTX1060 replaces the GTX970M and the GTX1050 is only rumoured at this point to launch in Jan).
