Hi,
So caveats first of all... I've never built a PC before, but after years of console gaming I thought i'd give it a go! So if anyone notices me doing something stupid please shout. My general principle here is maximum efficiency in the smallest space I can fit it in. Decided to go x99 for the 40 PCIe lanes and the quad ram and build from there. I was leaning towards micro-ATX in a Fractal Node 804, or a Corsair Air 240... But I thought space might be a bit too tight, and I have quite a pretty PSU so kind of wanted that partly visible, and went with the Tempered glass case below after a tough call between that one and the Corsair Crystal 460x. I'll need to mod the lower front part of the case to fit two fans and the GPU radiator in, at the moment I can only fit one fan and the radiator. I'm basically linking the components together to make the maximum use possible running the quad channel ram on an x99 platform, with what will be 1080s in SLI running in 16x16x in both PCIe lanes, the largest radiator i can easily fit in it, fans in every hole and the whole lot watercooled!

I also aspire by the principles of: go large or go home!

Build consists of:

Stage 1 (complete)
In Win 805 tempered glass case
i7-6850k - went for 6 core and higher clock over the others - also went with the 5820k first of all until i realised it had 28 not 40 lanes...!
Asus Deluxe ii MoBo
4x8gb dominator platinum
evga850 G2 PSU
2x 512gb 850 pro SSDs
Corsair 115i
ichill Black Hybrid 1080

Stage 2
a second ichill Black Hybrid 1080
Acer Predator 4k2k XB321HK Gsync ips 4k monitor

Stage 3
make it prettier
Red&White Corsair ML 140 and 120 fans have caught my eye
A lighting strip or two
Bit more cable management

Personally going for something like a EKWB Predator build would have been for this build. would have made it easier for rad space and properly watercooling. But I hope you enjoy your X99 build mine is just about ready to go.

No point.Predator 360 will not fit and if he is only cooling the cpu seperately with an aio the corsair will do the job well.

If the iChill is only using a 120mm rad, could you not just stick the second one on the rear fan slot rather than needing to mod the case? I mean, don't let me stop you modding if that's what you want to do, just a thought.

go large or go home!
Yep, overkill is definitely the way to go! :D

Overkill does not exist in this dojo.:)

Very nice build with a good choice of components - very clear upgrade path for you.
The 805 case really comes to life when it's got a living pc inside it.
That ram looks so much nicer than mine. (jealous)

Hope you enjoy using it :)

You'll love some RGB lights in there - you can adjust things to your mood that way.

Enapace, EKWB Predator - this is my first build didn't fancy trying to make a Full loop connected into everything. I do have the option of trying to plumb all the components together at some point in the future using the same tubing though.

Brazo - The iChill, I like it, was trying to decide between that and the EVGA FTW hybrid. Thing the ichill looks a bit more aggressive, but the FTW a bit smarter. I dont think theres anything to distinguish them performance wise, and its only really a cosmetic decision.

Cenedd - Yes my plan is to put the 2nd iChill rad on the top exhaust. the issue is with the bottom rad, i want to place two 120 fans in the bottom, and there are the holes for them, but when overlayed on the bottom-front fan the rad cant be aligned with the holes as it pushes up against the front of the case - i need to get creative.
