3440x1440 to 2560x1440

Got it in my head that I'm thinking of trading in my LG 34" 3440x1440 for a 27" monitor that has gync and is 165hz monitor.
I'm looking at the ASUS PG279Q ROG SWIFT.
Would I miss super wide or will having gysnc and 165hz monitor be more amazing. I use my PC for gaming, mainly RPG RTS and some FPS games. I don't play MP games much so I don't care about having the 165hz for competitive play, just rather the smoother experience.

i would hate to go back to 16.9 now, try running your monitor in 16.9 and see if you could go back to it

Stick your windows res to 2560 and see how long you last.

The new AOC might be worth a consideration - assuming you want more than the 60Hz or whatever it is on that LG.

Don't do it, you'll miss the real estate. If anything, get something faster in 21:9. Although, that comes with a price. I'm currently using the Z35.

Just buy a better 21:9 monitor... x34a etc.. have the best of all 3 world's gsync 100hz and superwide.

Honestly, i think you'll regret it.
60hz to 120hz, to me I can see. 120 to 144, barely. But honestly, 100hz is good and smooth enough imo. So with that, i'd go for another 21:9 with 100hz, x34 and PG348Q springs to mind.

34 inch super wide is the ultimate currently.

I'm eying up the LG one myself. No way I'd pay the rog tax for the PG348Q though.

The way I see it, the only way you can get an upgrade over what you have, is a HDR OLED 4K super wide with 144hz refresh rate. And they don't exist yet!
