draytek universal repeater mode help

anyone throw any light on this please ?

I setup my draytek router 2790n and ap710 (repeater) in universal repeater mode and it shows both are connected in the dashboard utility, but soon as I disconnect the lan cable used to set it up I cannot get online although I can ping the router and the repeater.

I have tried totally disabling wifi security firewalls on pc and the router.

I just want it setup so I can plug the repeater in to extend / boost the signal a bit

Did you reboot it after configuration? That's my usual 'gotcha' when setting up DDWRT repeaters.

thanks , i'll do a factory reset and prog it again but will remember to reboot all.

btw whan my tablet loses connection from the main wireless router as it goes out of range but then goes into range of the repeater how do force it to scwitch wifi faster mine just drops the signal and I have to manually connect even though it say auto connect in the tablet wifi settings ?
