Hey all,

Other half looking to get a new laptop, purely browsing internet, watching videos, writing documents.

What is she likely to get for £500 these days? I've been out of the market a long time :).

I think screen needs to be 15", and I'm thinking SSD. She has a habit of having 30 chrome tabs open :p

ASUS X751LDC-T4338H looks good. No SSD but that could be sorted later?

Just spotted you are after a 15" screen and that asus is 17.3" sorry.

I had a look at the ProBook, the SSD is a bit small. Also the screen resolution is shocking! Looking for at least HD resolution for her.

I suppose the other options is buying refurbished, and putting an SSD in myself... but would wreck any warranty it comes with.

Anyone ever used the laptop building companies?

Sorry for thread hijack, but I'm looking for one as well. Was given £500 budget to get myself a new one (work)
What do people think about ASUS Pro P2520LA-XO0301G? just under £500 at the moment

Does anyone owns one?

intel Core i7-5500U 2.4GHz/3GHz Processor
12GB RAM, 500GB HDD (not really worried about capacity of it)
15.6" (1366 x 768) Resolution (again, my current laptop has same resolution and I'm fine with it)
I'm more after computing power than anything else
