Best DDR4 on the market at the moment for speed/latency/overclocking?

What's the best ram around at the moment?

I have ordered a 4x8GB kit of Corsair 3600MHz with 16-16-16-36 timings that seemed to be the best combination of frequency and timings which should lend itself well to tweaking.

But I realised that I didn't do much research and still have the opportunity to change my order as that ram is on back order with my supplier.

What's the best memory around at the moment to get the best frequencies at the tightest timings?

Any specific kit?

What makes it better than the Corsair?

Any overclocking tests/results you can share with me?

My local supplier has quite a few of their sets...

3733 17-17-17-37
3600 16-16-16-36
3400 16-18-18-38
3200 14-14-14-34
3200 15-15-15-35
3200 16-18-18-38
3000 14-14-14-34
3000 15-15-15-35
2800 15-16-16-35

Found UK stock of the 3600 15-15-15-35 kit... so I've cancelled my Corsair order and ordered that one.

Should be a touch quicker than the 3200 14-14-14-34 kit at standard frequencies and possibly have a touch more overclockability as the ICs might be a little bit better.

It was only about £40 more than the Corsair too.

Gskill always good stuff.

Keep an eye on this too - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...l-kit-black-txd48g3866hc18adc0-my-067-tg.html - I got a kit when it was on a weekly offer at £39, it might go that low again.

That stuffs ok, guardband is a little low. Managed 4133 with decent stability. No real need to be up that high for daily clocks, though.

Not for Z170, no. Oddly enough - the results I have for Skylake are with the kit Stulid just posted lol.

Not for Z170... X99 & BW-E

I haven't updated my sig but I no longer have that PC.

It's now Asus Rampage V Edition 10 & 6950X

Oh, well in that case: G.SKILL F4-3200C14Q-32GTZ

Z170 kit, but X99 tends to play nicely with these b-die kits, and the guardband is good enough that they work well in quad channel.

Stability verified with 3 hours of Google Stress App test. Deluxe II / 6900K

Nice :)

I'm going to stick with the 3600MHz C15 kit though as it's a slightly newer release and it shouldn't have any trouble matching the speed like in your screenshot.

2x G.Skill F4-3600C15D-16GTZ

Good to see 3400 at such good timings... those are practically the stock timings for my current 2133 kit... although I've improved on it for now.

It's a 8x8GB budget kit i bought for my 5820k to go in my home server with 64gb for VMs... Kingston Hyper X Fury Black 2133 @ 14-14-14-34-2T

While waiting for my new memory, I have it in here and I did some tweaking. I managed to get it to boot into 3200MHz @ 18-19-19-39-1T but performance was worse than 3000MHz which I have at 16-16-16-36-1T

Not bad for something bought only for cheap large volume :)

Most of the corsair sticks just won't run at their XMP profile settings on z170 I find. Not sure why. G.Skill is probably a better option.

I don't recommend mixing them.

I'm not mixing though... they're both the same 2x2x8GB G.Skill 3600MHz C15

I assume you mean mixing those with the Kingston? I never had any plans to... the Kingston is only in here at the moment because I didn't have any other DDR4 to hand and wanted to get the right stuff which appeared to be on back order. Once the new stuff has arrived - these Kingston sticks are going back in my server.
