Worth upgrading now?

Hi all I've got 8gb of Vulcan ddr 3 in my system. It's served me well during the last 12-18mths but I've noticed recently that some titles seem to be using more and more ram. Would now be the time to increase from 8-16gb? Do you think upcoming games will use more and more Ram?.
Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks all

The only game I own which will eat 8gb ram is Elite Dangerous, mainly because of all the procedural stuff going on in the background. Most games won't come close to filling it.

A LOT of upcoming games are relying on heavy procedural generation, so if it is the case that that's what's eating up RAM we may see the need for more RAM soon.
