I have two sticks of memory (dual) I used for them for a couple of years, I had the odd BSoD in W7 but XP was fine.
A few months back I had to remove one stick as the system started failing to boot.
I finally got around to testing the memory using Memtest86.
One stick has loads of errors stating at 5600mb.
The one I removed earlier had fewer errors but they started at 2500mb.
Anyway my question is because the system only crashes occasionally does that mean I'm rarely accessing memory above 5600mb and anything more than 8gig would be a wast. Games rarely crash it's usually the desktop that crashes. BSoD reports are pointing to memory issues.
