Hi there,

I recently came from abroad to study in UK for a year. I didn't know where else to ask and even my landlord didn't know what to answer.

I have three questions.

1. Currently in my flat there is "alpha intec 28xe" heating system and it comes with wireless controller, (looks like this - http://www.alpha-innovation.co.uk/custom/upload/images/products/resized/700x700/EasyStat-700.jpg ) I tried to find online manual but there is none, basically how to set up timer so heat comes on specific time. How to do that?

2.What kind of mattress top should I get, or at least suggest, place where I should look for ? (current mattress is not comfortable and a new cost more than top).

3. In the oven the heat isn't strong enough, even when its on gas 7. Recently I had a gas check and they said its okay.. well if it takes 4 hours to cook the chicken (other places 1 hour) then its to much, any ideas what could be the problem ?

Regards

1) Keep exploring the options on the wireless controller. There should be a timer setting.

2) Buy this mattress topper: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rejuvopedi...id=1475110192&sr=8-3&keywords=mattress+topper

3) The problem seems to be you have a gas oven, and not an electric fan assisted oven. You can't do anything about this unless you change the oven or move somewhere which has an electric fan assisted oven.

Take a picture of the wireless controller and show us on here. And take a picture of the oven and show us here.

Awesome first post.

Welcome to the forum, funny you should find yourself here. I dont instantly recognise that heating system but wireless control sure sound fancy to me. The systems I deal with are arcane and require a rain dance to work, yours should be easy

I imagine the menu system is layered and probably not quite straightforward. If you use imgur to host pictures, then post a link here to maybe try to show us the various menus and it can be worked out from there.

Instructions for the thermostat http://www.alpha-innovation.co.uk/c...ons/Clocks/New Easy Stat Inst 7.2000050_3.pdf (I think).

Gas Mark 7 is hot! It's 220 degrees C which is temperature well over what you'd usually use for cooking chicken (even nuggets). You don't need an electric fan assisted oven, you just need one that works. My mother has used various gas ovens for 60+ years and they cook just fine. My electric oven also cooks perfectly well in both fan and convection modes.

I'd get a cheap thermostat and see how hot the oven is actually getting. Something like this http://www.appliancespareswarehouse...zvGzrzYyBk--EsElLTWHutBL-hR4SsPq9QaAiqN8P8HAQ. If it isn't reaching temperature get the landlord to fix it.

The gas check would just have confirmed that it was safe.

Landlord don't care if it's fixed or not.

Is there a way I can check maybe pipe is not fully open ?

I will get oven temperature sensor.
