Check out some of the mods i'm using in the spoiler tags below. It seems to be handling ok on my 970 @ 60fps, so i'd imagine a 1070 should be fine at 1440p. It looks great to me.

EDIT: Looks a lot better in game, pics seem to have lost sharpness and clarity somewhere between taking the screenshot, resizing or hosting on photobucket. Looks like ive used one of them blurry preset things, but I never use them as I dont like the effect.

To have the game read loose files you need to change a line in the Fallout4.ini
(You don't need to do this step if you already done so with another animation mod)

Using the latest Beth patch has broken all MODS - removed from plugin.txt , see below how to fix this

Make sure you are using the very latest NMM ( Nexus Mod Manager )

Make sure that all the mods ESPS are ticked and selected under Plugins

Launch the game via Fallout4.exe or through NMM, at least until SKSE is available

Never load the game with the Fallout 4 Launcher if you've installed mods!!

Also, need to do a small change in the Fallout4Prefs.ini file.

You will need to add the following line to the Fallout4Prefs.ini file below the section marked [Launcher]:

bEnableFileSelection=1

Nexus Mod Manager can handle mods now, some of them at least. For Mod Organizer it will take a while before the creator have finished rewritting it so it supports 64bit games. Source: GitHub: Fallout 4 Support scroll down to post #4 where Tannin, the creator, explains a little about it.

One I personally like is the No more cash register sound mod, which removes the sound everytime you gain some Experience. Saves one from going bit crazy, especially if you building stuff. :rolleyes:

I had a problem with this initially until i turned off vsync and capped refresh at 100hz...dependent on your monitor obviously but it really helped me. (and the obvious motion blur off, depth of field low settings)

I really hate the way some games make me feel unwell

i think dead island is the worst game i ever encountered for that, and i never managed to fix it so only ever played about 30 minutes of it.

Only a 60hz monitor here sadly and I've already tried those other settings

Dead Island was horrendous for me too. I played it for a few hours with friends but had to go for a lie down after each session - obviously I didn't go back for more after that happened more than once

Possibly it's the head bobbing. It's so hard to be sure though - it's different for everyone and different things in different games have different effects :/

Dynamically switched between ultra/medium shadows to help with performance when looking at shadows in the distance (normally perfect performance) and shadows up close (which causes drastic FPS loss).

If I get chance later I'll do some testing on my 680 as that's a nice mid-range card to test this against.

Have you tried playing it mainly using 3rd person view? it can be frustrating but that's another thing that's really helped me.

-Calibrate your FOV. You need to know screen size and the distance you sit. Incorrect FOV is the main culprit for motion sickness in games.
-Turn off mouse acceleration
-Disable in game VSync (it gives an awful input lag)
-Turn of motion blur
