hi guys, this is my PC spec:

Asus A8N-SLI Premium
Athlon 64 3800x2
2GB OCZ DDR
7800GT
74GB Raptor

I've not used the PC in a long time and previously it was slowed down with a lot of junk on there, so I formatted it today and installed Win XP Pro SP2.

Everything is running great now, I installed the RAID drivers from floppy disk during the windows installation, after which I have installed the Lan, Audio, Gfx card drivers, however, afew things are stilll showing as not installed.

-Other PCI Bridge Device
-PCI Memory Controller
-SM Bus Controller
-Unknown device

Where can I get the relevant drivers, does anyone know what the above are?

By the way, I always use the Marvell 88E81001 Lan Controller.

Here is the latest driver, I've actually just updated to this very driver & can confrim it works.

Windows XP/Server 2003 x86 Driver (32-bit) for Yukon Devices v10.64.2.3

Once it's downloaded do the following:

3) Click Update Driver & Install from a List or Specific Location.

4) Tick "Include this location in the search" & Browse to the directory where the downloaded drivers are & then let it install.

The Lan drivers I installed were I think version 8053 for win xp, they seem to be working ok, everything is now its just the unknown device which I am trying to figure out.

Let me know if you have any ideas :)

If I was you, disable anything that you don't use in the bios, it could well be the onboard sound driver.

-Unknown device

No problem, as I mentioned above the unknown device could be the onboard soundcard, obviously if you use a Soundcard i.e. Creative Audigy/Xi series or Asus Xonar etc, no need to downloaded the motherboard's onboard sound driver.

Realtek ALC850 8-channel codec.

Where to download: Click Here

Version: A4.05
Release Date: 12.08.2008
Operating System: Windows XP (32-Bit)

I already installed the audio drivers previously, but I have gone ahead and installed this too. The unknown device is still showing.

It's not the ACPI driver is it ?

If you let windows search the MB CD it should find it and install it if that's the case.

Are the gameport, midi port and 1394 port disabled in the bios ?

install the

ACPI driver for ATK 0110 virtual device for Windows 2000/XP(32bit and 64bit)/2003(32bit & 64bit)/VISTA(32bit & 64bit)

http://support.asus.com/download/do...1&model=A8N-SLI Premium&SLanguage=en-us&os=17

I did not install that driver, trying now.
