For all contract customers with a data package on O2, if your fed up of the image compression they insist on, then there is a way around it. The best part is its simple to bypass it!

I didnt know this until today and so thought I would pass on my findings:

Simply edit your connection settings to O2:

APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
Username: (change it to) 'bypass'
Password: password

Thats it! Hope this helps someone on these boards

all very well, but you can't access the APN settings on an iPhone without jailbreaking it

Didnt realise you couldnt do this on a normal iphone:

change the username for the O2 access point under Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network to “bypass” from the default “vertigo”

It works on my XDA stellar, dont have an iphone (yet) so sorry I cant test it.

You can:

Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network.

dont do this with bberry, i think if you use this (any) APN you are charged regardless whether you have bberry unlimited data bolt on..

I just had a look at m.flickr.com on my iphone and the compression was terrible, made it pretty much useless. Remembered this trick and just tried it and it is loads better.
