Erm, my indicators don't work on the passengers side.

Hi guys, whilst driving home last night all of my indicators on the left hand side of my car decided to stop working all together, cue lots of flashing from other drivers!

So what causes this, anything i can do to fix it or is it a garage job.

Car is a 98 plate fiesta si mk4.

Thanks.

Sounds like a simple fuse?

Do they work when you put the hazards on? This will narrow it down to a wiring fault, a switch fault or maybe even a flasher unit fault, as the hazards typically use their own feed circuit, bypassing the standard flasher unit and switch on the column.

I know they are working now but yes they do have a separate fuse foe each side.

1) The OP already got it working by changing the fuses.
2) The same relay/flasher unit is used for both LH and RH indicators. Often, but not always the hazards use a separate flasher unit.

Right then, an update.....

It's stopped working again, so doesn't look like it was the fuse, think it was just a coincidence, so what's the next step. There is only the one fuse to replace for both indicators.

Has the new fuse you put in blown as well?

doesn't appear to have done, plus the fact that the fuse controls both indicators and the right ones are still working

There should be separate fuses for left and right sides not the same one for both sides(well they are on my 2000 Festa).

I would check the bulb holders for corrosion/shorts or bad earth then check the fuse again and replace if necessary.
