Does anyone here still buy movies on VHS?

I've got a few dozen vhs tapes I'm looking to get rid of. Plenty of decent films nothing rare though, it's all available on dvd. Is it worth the effort of trying to sell them or would I be better off taking them to a charity shop/dump?

No one will want them, not even people on Freecycle! I hear even some charity shops don't take them as they can't sell them on - but worth a try.

I have lots to give away myself and not having much luck!

I'm just about old enough that authentic porn for me would be 30 second 320x240 quicktime movies

Yeah, that's what I thought but I didn't want to chuck them without making sure. The dump it is!

No. Blu-Ray only.

But we do have a Panasonic VHS/DVD-Recorder thingy (with HDMI upscaling & DVB-T Tuner) for watching of old home movies and transferring them to DVD.

VHS on a 1080P TV is kinda interesting!

Hax. Eps 1 through 3 aren't commercially available on VHS. I'd have to see photographic proof.

Remember, if you made a "digital copy" of your VHS tapes you must retain the original tapes. Otherwise it's piracy.

Binned all of my VHS around 6 months ago. They just sat in my room taking up shelf real-estate. There were no VHS players in the house, no idea why I held on to them for so long!

For a couple of years I bought loads of VHS in the early 2000's on ebay for pennies each, to watch loads of movies I hadn't seen etc, when I was still on dialup. These days I can just download them in about an hour so definately no need for them.

on a + i did pick up a bugs life DVD for 1.25 from a charity shop the other day, although not the best disney film its the only one ive seen so far in said shops

Yes. There is no way I'm trawling in the cupboard under my little sisters toys to get a photo. Best I can do, sorry.

No and its a shame really because I had quite a few great films on vhs which I can't watch anymore, and so I have to pour yet more money into the large media corporations to buy something that I already own, but in another format.
