CS:GO Discussion

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

CS:GO Steam Store

Quote:
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 12 years ago.

CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.

Really not sure on the score board and the sound is still all over the place but it is BETA.

Needs work and deleting that AWFUL level with the trains!

I like the gun action and the graphics improvement, but the gun noises are all wrong and the extra sounds make it sound stupid.

All expected from CS. Aiming using crosshairs takes more skill than iron sights IMHO.

Have only played an hour and a half so far, but I don't think it's too bad at all. Some of the gun models are terrible and it still needs tweaking/polish, but overall it's ok.

I haven't really played it much but to be honest it seems just like counter strike source. What's annoying me is that you can't make the crosshair smaller, but that will probably be changed for the release.

The sound is pretty bad, I have to say.

But overall the game is pretty enjoyable, seems solid and the graphics looks pretty decent.

Really? I think it looks stunning. Graphics are sweet and clean, and it's not crammed full of blurry ****.

Agree on the sound thing, but it's being worked on.

I've played the beta a few times and quite like it, not such a departure from the series as I thought it was going to be when the first videos surfaced, not that I've ever been a die hard fan, just an occasional player.

It's not as good a source, yet anyway. Needs alot of improving on core things like hitreg and recoil before retail.

Good:
It plays like counter strike, but with improved graphics
Gun-game is integrated in to the game, which has been my favourite mode for a while
I like the new crosshair... simple, I know... but it works well

Bad:
It still plays like counter strike - it feels like there's been no real evolution of the game play (I can't tell if this is a good or bad thing)
Sounds seem to be the same (but then it's beta)

For the average joe it's going to come across as an incredibly dated game that seems like it came from years ago.

It has all the foundations of a great competitive FPS though like the CSs before it.

It's dated, lack of innovation in the series has crippled it. The world has moved on and cs hasn't.

Why didn't they make cs2 with more game modes and completely new maps? This would have given the Call of Duty and Battlefield series some new competition. Yet valve seem stuck in the past.

Where are the guys that did Left 4 Dead, Portal and Team Fortress 2? Why didn't they use there talent to create a unique equal to CS?

I cannot fathom why valve keeps rehashing the same bloody game. The vast majority of people that played 1.6 now I imagine have kids and mortgages. Are they likely to come flooding back? I doubt it...

They should have done cs 2 and appealed to a new audience.

Tier 1 Ops - An Arma 3 group.

Can't get my head around what they've done with the firing pattern/recoil. Bullet spread seems totally random at times.
