So a little about my system to start off

Intel i3 2125 3.30 ghz HD3000
8 GB ram
Windows 7 - 64 bit

A friend has gave me a CGAX-6452LI which appears to be a Radeon 5450 which is a ddr3 1gb version I believe.

My question, which is better. My onboard HD3000 or this 5450?

Searched around on google but they seem to compare the HD 5450 against an I5 processor with HD3000 and then it seems to be mixed reviews

My friend reckons this 5450 will beat my HD3000 but I don't want to install and waste my time if it is on the same level as the Hd3000.

Thoughts and input will be much appreciated, and sorry if I have missed some information you need, this is the first time I have looked at GPU's

I did have them both :)

5450 is piece of crap can't even play a decent 1080p movie properly and gaming is a big no no your talking 540p low settings at best.

Hd3000 can play a lot of the more basic games at 720p medium settings and movies are perfect.

If you want to play games really you need something much better.

According to Tom's Gpu hierarchy, they're roughly on the same tier.

I haven't tried the 5450, but in my experience, the HD3000 definitely plays 1080p movies perfectly and can play games like Mass Effect 2 at 720p with low-ish settings decently enough.
Didn't really experiment much with the gaming side of things though and I wouldn't expect too much out of it.

Would virtuMVP help much if using both?
