New 7950/7970 or Wait for HD8000 series? Plus 3D question

Hello guys I upgrading to a new display the BenQ XL2420T 24" TRUE 120Hz
For the 120fps I going to need another gpu so my question is do I add another 7950/70 or wait for HD8000?

Do you think one 8970 will be better performance than two 7950/70 cards?

Also I not getting this monitor with the Nvidia 3D vision kit, but am i right in thinking 3D will not work with AMD card on this screen?

Thanks

8970 will probably not be faster than two 7950's.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think Nvidia 3D works with AMD.

You will also need TriDef and some Monitors have AMD 3D looked out.

It would be a good idea to change your topic title to include 3D so it grabs the attention of those who know about it. :)

Tbh I not really looking at using the 3D lol just thought I would add the question in there :D

What matter to me is
+No ghosting
+very little input lag
+nice colours

I'd also vote for adding another 7950, 2x 7950 with a little overclock is basically 7990 speeds and I can't see any of the single core cards of the next generation beating the 7990 unless AMD can bring out something faster than the GTX 780.

This what I going to do I think. can I add any 7950? or should I match up my xfx 7950.

I'm out of touch with crossfire, as I haven't used it for quite a while though iirc I think you have quite a wide flexibility with regard to tolerance for clock / memory speeds between two cards. Obviously, from an aesthetic view point, adding another XFX DD 7950 would look very nice but from what I read, they aren't the quietest of coolers?

Grab another 7950. What's not to like about titan beating performance for less than £400?

Even if AMD's new card tops a titan/780, 7950 crossfire will still be faster.

The BenQs are fine if you're not used to an IPS screen. Bear in mind that people who review the monitors see all types so are more inclined to see the differences.

Compared to a Dell 1440 IPS panel the colours on the BenQ are washed out but if you're going from one TN screen to another the BenQ is likely to be a large improvement.

(source: I have both next to each other)

3D with AMD cards won't work; there isn't any real perceivable difference between 120 and 144 Hz.

The fan is quite loud above 70% but its not really that bad, above 80% its very loud but I game with headphones on and dont hear it.
Plus since bring my overclock down from 1100/1500 to 1000/1500 and stock voltage I never pass 66c so card stays quiet.

Another XFX my card is voltage unlocked I read all cards now are voltage locked I can buy an xfx overclocked version 925 would this still overclock abit? say like 1000/1500 to match my other card.

Thanks after more reviews and watching Youtube I going with benq xl2420t. Some review site seem to have blown this ghosting way over the top.
If it was a really issue they would be loads off youtube videos about it lol.
