[strike]Help Please[/strike] ....£1050-1250 FINAL CHECK PLEASE

I know the below misses by a mile, but I figured I'd put them in here for being ripped apart :)

£1250 needs to be only for including something special really, cables I'll 'find' afterwards, but feel free to suggest some, I'd like a themed build too, Red'n'Black, unless the orange Giga Board comes up :p

I quite like the look of this but have speced another from OC

Work calls, but please feel free to call me a plonker etc... and make other suggestions... I'll try and pop in later, I just wanted to get things started...

Not bothered red or green ref graphics cards, but just wanted the best I can get as it's for my son, his first gaming build.

Never built one, but stripped many laptops to bare shel and I'm an engineer so no fears, just no experience of what goes best with what.

I'll pay for some leds and cables to tart it up, but the bulk is his money so want to do best for him.

FPS to gary's mod, he plays a bit of everything , or will once he has a gaming rig, hamstrung by c2d laptop at the moment.

Thanks, N.

I used to have that Asus 7970 - quietest card ever. The Matrix would be better, but it's a chunk extra. It'll come with free games too, the gold ticket comes with all 7970s.

The only reason I didn't include the matrix on offer is the pre-order sign next to it...;)

Third time lucky....
I've written 3 responses on phone nut reception sucks at work :(

Thanks for the suggestions so far!!!
I am struggling to read / check them out on tiny phone so will loo. In morning but thanks :)

Is there any chance of keeping venom colossUS? Or. Is it just too big a chunk of budget?? we both like it but performance is more iimportant really

And DO like black and red if anyone else has a pop :)

Having sai. All that he quite liked the ready species army case look but I only found that out as I left so haven't looked at that option self build but with i5

Cheers, N

Thanks Guys, appreciate your efforts :)

re the comments on the Matrix, is it viable at this price point?
is it worth it at this price point?

the way I'm thinking a little now is forget the nice looking if we can get something special in the performance department?
I have to check with the Boss on that but if theres a significant improement in spec and playability I think I can sell it....

However I'll take all your advice on whether it's actually worth it as we Just plain don't know!!

we both liked the idea of a pretty illuminated build, but if theres that definate graphics improvement but have to cut back on the bling then if we cant get what we had in mind at the start then performance should probably take center stage... after all the effect of the lights etc, is probably more for me and the build satisfaction, once he's playing he aint looking at it ;)

again not much time to take it in, but if the matrix or other higher end is viable, please do say if it's 'worth it' in your own opinions, when it comes to an either or , bling and decent, or No bling but great performance.

I obviously realise we are out of budget for the super high end, but pipe up if theres a 'third way'.... ;)

Thanks again, better go before I get the sack....

I best pullout a black and red themed build then ..

Despite what Ive just written above ref Performance, B'n'R was his favourite, but I had seen some of your orange suggestions for others hence I mentioned the Gigga board ;)

however the matrix is Black 'n'Red :p

catch up in the morning and thankyou all again for your time!!

Red & Black mATX Ethermaster special, does this suit you sir?

I was going to go with the Corsair AXi Series and their braided cables but that would have put you with the shipping at £40 over budget :( this Antec PSU is a cracker for that kinda money tho.
