Previous thread here.

I really like the idea of goals, but more so of the need to track them. Set your goal, plot a course to it and stick it on your fridge. Keeping track of progress is nice but more importantly having that log looking at me kept me on track for my cycle training last year. SMART targets (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely) always help, although I assume most will be measurable by the nature of the gym rat numbers chasing

So here's my 3
Ride 3000 miles (which is an average of 2 commutes per week)
Rebuild my squat technique (as it's clearly not right at the moment) and comfortably do 100x5
Deadlift all my weights by the end of the year (185kg), with an intermediate goal of 165 by the summer

*chuckles* Funny guy!

My (now truly) enormous head has clearly been cropped out of those photos. And you have clearly not looked in Freefaller's log... :D

I need to actually ride my bike now I have put aerobars on it: I can be one of those lamers that every serious cyclist laughs at, having aeeobars on a full suspension mountain bike. :( :D

Squats from 110kg to 150kg.
Deadlifts from 130kg to 180kg or 200kg 1RM.
OHP from 45kg to 60kg.
Weight from 170lbs to 200lbs to 180lbs.

Not entirely sure how feasible those goals are but I'll try!

Well last year went quite well.

5K 21.12 / 18.52
10K 46.07 / 40.43
Half Marathon 1.38.23 / 1.30.11

Next year the aim is

Sub 18:30 5K
Sub 39:00 10K
Sub 1:28:00 Half Marathon
Sub 3:15 Marathon (Although it is currently 3:56:xx!!)

Also want to start swimming and cycling again and aim to do another Triathlon.

Edited as my Marathon PB is actually 3:56:xx and not 4:13:00.

Mine is to get my 1rm's back up to where they were before:
Squat: 150
Deadlift: 200
Bench: 125
OHP: 87.5

Then tackle it from there, would be nice to shed a few lbs too while I'm at it! :)

I'm back baby!
I am having a serious knee op this month, so the long road to recovery from there. My end goal is being able to pull my football boots on by this time next year. Hopefully small-sided kick abouts will have happened well before that.

Which do you think will be most challenging?

The extremely slow rate I'm putting on weight atm, I'd say the gaining/losing 1lb a week. Probably realistically, even if that, I'll only get to the first stage of 200lbs by the end.

Lifts wise, squats. Squats go up real slow for me. But this is <1kg increase a week so I'm being hopeful. :)

5k <18 mins, current PB 20:48
10k <45 mins, current PB 52:34

Finally near a gym with free weights again so will have to decide what my goals for 5x5 will be. With the amount of cardio ill be doing its going to take a lot of work

My goals:

Improve bf%. Generally happy with body image other than my stomach, sooner i ditch that the better.
Increase my total lift for B/S/D. I think 250kg is achievable, maybe even 300 (at a stretch)?
Still be lifting at the end of the year!

Having had a very slow difficult recovery from microfracture last April I would like to be able to be running by summer and possibly be able to consider rugby training next season. The speed of my recovery so far does make me feel playing again may be a pipe dream
