Gibbo, do you know if jetwashing a car will reduce the amount of swirling?
Hi there
Swirling mostly comes from washing, as such try not to use sponges and uses at least 2 buckets.
Best way to keep the car looking clean is to hose the car down, using a pressure washer on the lower areas of the cars where the most dirt collects. Then give the car a pre-wash, say using a super-spray, so spray soap over the car, leave for 2 minutes and then hose down. What this does is the soap helps lifts dirt from the car and then you just hose it down.
The car will not be cleaner and you have not even touched it with a sponge, you could now just stop at this point if you think its clean enough and won't have introduced any swirling.
If you do move onto a proper wash then use two buckets and ideally two meguiars lambs wool mits. One bucket is used for cleaning your mit and the other will have your wash in. When cleaning the car going over the paint work with the mitt as if you were cleaning an egg shell. Using the other mitt for the lower regions of the car.
Once done hose down.
Now if your dry the car be careful as this is where its very easy to put swirls in the paintwork. My advice is use one of the extra large Eurow drying towels and use the patting method. As they are so large you literally dry the entire car in less than 5 minutes, have no watermarks and the car will remain swirl free.
