Hi all.....looking for some input.

I will be soon building a Vista 64Bit gaming system (For Crysis optimum setup :D) and wondered if anyone has an opinion on my RAM dilemma......

Is it worth buying a 4GB RAM kit over buying 2 separate 2GB kits and using them together?

The cost of a 2GB (2 x 1GB) kit could be around £50-£60 (or cheaper..like these here)so about £120 total for the 4gig....however if I went for a dedicated 4GB (4 x 1GB) kit it could be anywhere up to £200!! Is it worth paying 2 times the price?

Really what I'm trying to ask is this, is it worth paying for a selected 4GB kit rather than 2 x 2GB kits....

Just get 4 x 1gig crucial ballistix.:)

But isnt it a little trickier to OC 4 sticks, at least on some Mobo's.
Im looking at this as well, im building a Video Editing system as an Xmas present so will go for a cheep CPU with 4 gig Ram but will want to OC it on air. I thought 2x2gig would be easier to OC (with a cheap-ish mobo).

If you get the 4gb 2x2gb gskill pc8000 kit then you dont have to worry about the oc as they are guaranteed to do 500 at stock which is more than enough headroom.

i picked up 4x1gb crucial pc6400 sticks for £105 i think inc del, and they do, all 4 sticks in mobo around the 600mhz mark, with just two sticks, around 625mhz, at which point i just got bored and stuck the other 2 in, then played to find best cpu speed vs mem speed with diff multipliers.

most ddr2 decent mem is all micron chips which is what the whole crucial range uses, even their pc5300, i only got the 6400 over the 5300 as it was on special offer so same price. almost everyone with a set of 5300/6400/8500 ballistix's all hit 500-600 with ease if they have a cpu/mobo combo that can do that speed fine.
