hey there!

Need a little help.

I make amateur & frag BF2 movies, and I want a way of capturing TV/Film footage to use. When I record with FRAPS, the footage is all jerky and lagged out, and certainly cant capture the sound as well.

Would a TV card be the sorta thing I need?? I'm running a 7800GT atm

cheers

I dont believe the TV card will help you. Whilst i have never used one, i believe they are for recording external TV / signal sources.

I believe a CPU / GPU upgrade should likely help though.

I find recording footage with fraps gives me lag and jerkyness even on my machine an i have a c2d and a 8800gt with 2GB ddr2

AMD X2 4600 (939 socket)
2 Gb ram
7800GT gfx
lotsa HDD's

Update BIOS, get newest motherboard drivers too and then overclock that CPU. If that doesn't help then I'd start to think about Intel and Quad core.

I don't record or anything myself so my knowledge about what's best is limited. I do know that the things I've suggested about the motherboard might help though. If it doesn't then it's upgrade time!!! :).
