Is it worth selling my Point of View 8800GTS 640MB for a the new 8800GT/GTS, apart from a few fps increase and a die shrink, im just wandering as I only bought it 2 months ago.

you would make a phew quid, with a little graphics difference, taking up smaller room in your case, why not, i would, or sell your gts quickly, wait a phew weeks for the new gts, then huge graphics increase and still making money.

I thought the new GTS wasn't that much faster than the GT?

The jump from the current GTS to the current GT is surely a larger one?

(Confused enough by all the current NVidia cards:()

I'd keep hold if it. The GT is nice, but if you're overclocking, you'll need a decent case for them to run cool, whereas your current GTS dualslot stays cool happily.
As for the new GTS, yup - if it's priced correctly then tradeup. But if the GT is anything to go buy it will be overpriced and widely unavailable.

p.s. I know bang for buck the GT is a cheap enough card, but the prices are unecessarily high compared to what some people paid, so the consumer is getting ripped off.

Well,

I gained nearly 4000 Points in 06.

Its worth it.

What increase did you get in games? I was talking to someone who compared his GTS 640 overclocked to around 710 to his GT at 750 or something and he said the GT is not much faster.

I'd wait, no point buying a new GT for near £200 when they're only worth £150.
Wait until the price drops when supply comes in or see what the new GTS is priced at and how easily available it is :)

Trying selling on ebay - some dough nut may pay the same or more as the cost of an 8800GT:D

you have a valid point about the pricing/stock ratio, im still not convinced about benchie performance compared with game performance, how much difference would it make in playing crysis in 1280 x 1024 w/ 8x AA, would it warrant a new card, just for a 2 - 5% increase.

I would do it,

The GT is much faster than the GTS.

I did just that.

Sold my GTS 640 for 200 and bagged a GT.

Agreed, the GT is GTX performance, they are phenomenal cards for the prices. :)

New GTS wont be so easily available, its gona be in the same shortage as the GT, so expect to be paying a high premium price like it. :)
