giving furniture/house stuff to charity

hi,
In my garage I've got quite a bit of household stuff that would be useful to someone just starting out. Its too good to throw out so I got to thinking about giving to charity. Are there any that would want it and come fetch it?

Ask around at work. Nearly all my stuff in the lounge is free from work colleagues.

If colleagues / friends don't want it then the YMCA will collect it too. I had a corner desk that I wanted to donate, and almost all of the charity shops in Swindon said they didn't have the space to accept furniture - except the YMCA. They offered to come and collect it, but I told 'em it was already in the boot of my car and they could have it there and then

Otherwise, register with Freecycle and stick it on that site... if you live in a fairly densely populated area, there are bound to be people who need/want whatever you're offering.

Yup, put it on Freecycle. Bods like myself might want some of it, or charities.

just place adds there with the stuff you dont want a loads of people will mail you asking for it pick one and then there come to you to pick it up

Try the Sally army,my daughters boyfriend works for them,making collections,delivery,s,and working in one of their shops selling.
