I’m looking at getting a Sugo SG01 Evolution to house my next PC but I’m at a loss as to where to put it. It’s too small to go on the floor and too large to sit on my desk as I like to have it clear for general purpose clutter.

Ideally I’d like to purchase or make a ‘U’ shaped metal cradle that screws to the underside of my desk to hold the PC.

I’ve seen things similar to what I’m looking for which hold traditional style tower boxes, but nothing that would suite the size and dimensions of the Sugo :(

Any suggestions welcome?

Something like this would probably work but I’m not keen on the straps, I'd prefer a solid base. I’m also not sure whether the straps would interfere with the feet on the bottom of the sugo. Any other sugestions?

I've seen it done, but only on desks where its come pre-made. It might be easier to use wood to make the supports, depends what your carpentry skills are like.

PK!

Something like this would be better though nothing I’ve seen fits the dimensions of the sugo (W: 263mm, H: 216mm, D: 393mm).

I’ve thought about making something in sheet steel, but I have no tools, and think it could be quite expensive to pay someone.

A simple u-shaped tray should take a metal supplier/specialist less than 5 minutes to knock up - it's only 4 right-angle bends! (2 at bottom, and 2 at top, flared out one way or the other, to screw it to the underneath of the desk)

Makes you wish you was back at school in the days they had metal work classes.
All been replaced these days by computers I suppose.

Yeah - I was simply stating that the "go out and purchase something" isn't going to be too expensive/time-consuming - you could just as easily do something at home using a work-top edge and a hammer, but it won't be quite as neat a fold as a proper sheet metal bender will make (unless you know someone with a sheet metal bender, luckily my dad does!) and he's stated he has no tools (although I can't imagine any bloke NOT owning at least a hammer and a roll of duck tape!)

I've searched for sheet metal workshops in my area and there are a few. The only problem is they seem more geared up for large contract work rather than messing around getting measurements and designs to make themselves a couple of quite. I’ll give one a call tomorrow and see what they say, but I doubt any of them will be bothered with such a small one off item.

Exactly what I was thinking. I’m sure I can remember using machinery in metal work class that would be ideal for the task. Unfortunately I think I’ll be arrested if I wonder into school now and ask to use their “tool”

I do have basic tools but nothing that would do the job anywhere near properly. I’ve tried things like this in the past and it would be extremely hard to create anything that sits level or flush against the underside of the desk. Plus it would probably look like it’s been run over by a tank and then **** on by a dog, not something I really want in the office with my brand new system in.
