No lets be accurate here, there's a difference between what other people consider a complaint, and what normal people consider crying. :D

well whatever. But people post threads like this. There not going to have a whole page of sympathetic replys. By the time he posted this he could have had it half activated. If he yells at them. All he's going to have is them hang up. His attitude is not the best, he knows shouting at them wont achieve anything and is wrong but he says he'll do it anyway.

I had to re-activate after installing a bluetooth dongle, don't see me complaining.

Having to reactivate after installing a dongle is absolutely pathetic. Hardware changes such as mobo and boot drive fine, but for a flipping dongle? I would be a tad ticked off about that.

I can understand the OP being annoyed but no need to rant down the phone, it will only take longer :D

Re-activating after installing a songle? That is absolutely ridiculous, the mind boggles why that doesn't bother you at all... but then again some people just seem to take anything thrown at them.

I'm not a dog, dawg!

I just don't get fussed about little things of a typical non-issue nature. What good does it do, no, who benefits from throwing a sissyfit about such things? nobody. Might as well just laugh at the situation and carry on.

That's my way of thinking anyway.

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!

So... I finally get Vista setup in such a way that I'm almost able to live with all it's... "quirks" I then make the mistake of deleting the RAID0 volume that was my old XP drive. And it views this as a "Hardware Change" that requires reactivation!!!!??? It's a completely seperate set of harddrives you piece of ****! Now it has a lovely message informing me that "The Product key I have typed is already in use" and I must purchase another one!!??

I tell you, pity whatever Micro$oft lackey I get on the phone to resolve this! Rargh.

I think that Microsoft eitha have two options. Take out the Activation or find another way of distinguishing between a non legit and legit copy. The people with the legit copies are the ones having problems with this activation issue.

I can see where you are coming from sidefxv1 but you have to remember it only takes a few minuits of your life.

Windows Corp. edition..

Home users who buy systems from OEM manufactures don't get this option. If your a home user and you have a VLK it is eitha pirated or you work in an environment where your staff policy contract allows you to have a copy. Like me. :D

Can't you use the Corp. install disc, but enter in your retail CD key? So it's exactly the same but without validation/resetting and all that.

After the installation of SP1 RC I notice Vista is a lot more tolerant with hardware changes. I installed an X-Fi Music and it didn't ask me to reactivate! New hardware changes don't get worse than that my X-Fi works flawless.
I called India to activate Vista before and it took about 3 mins, not sure what the fuss was all about.

There are times when you don't have a phone, nor the time to do it.

Clearly for someone bothers to install Vista he must use an Internet connection (equal to having a phone line), how many people here can say you have no Internet at home or at work? And not having 3 mins for a quick call after all that trouble of installing Vista?
Can say no further to that.
