A dream is realised! New Car.

I thought he meant getting there. It's a long drive, unless he took it on the back of a trailer.

Dunno actually. Less power = more laps maybe?:p It'd make sense to de-tune for reliability too.

Has the car been in a smash? look at the left hand side of your engine bay photo... metal finish is not smooth

They're all like that :) They also have random holes/dimples drilled and punched into the inner wing too, looks very odd.

I always thought factory finishes were smooth. Looks like the metal is all wrinkled and a weld line runs inside below by the looks of things. The boot doesn't sit right and the front bumper doesnt fall in line correctly with the wheel arch. I'm not trying to **** on his chips, just wondered if he knew the cars full history and any potential future problems, a bad smash and twisted chassis = death trap. Mind you, a 300bhp + is anyway :D

i aint jealous at all :)

okay, i lied :( that car is truly gorgeous! i hope you have fun driving it, as i like looking at it! :)

Really nice car that. :) Certainly seems a nice example of one, just get some better wheels and reg plate, will be lovely then.

Again, cheers all!

It's not been in a smash AFAIK. It belonged to a very well known member of the RS Owners club before the guy I bought it off, and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have bought a smashed one. I also have an HPI report with it which is clear. It may have just been the light making it look funny, and the sheer amount of polishing it has had all over - they guy that had it before me wasn't called Bufty for nothing!! The bumper never fits flush to the front of the body kit on the wheel arch - just the way they are.

As for the escos/3 door debate, I just prefer 3 doors. Escos's are starting to drop off in terms of value, where good 3 doors are actually appreciating slightly. Also the front diff/gearbox is a real weakness on escos's, and tend to soil themselves if driven in a spirited manner with over 350 bhp, which this will def have before too long. I went round Mallory in this car and the escos that won 2nd place in this years RS Owners Concourse overall, and genuinely preferred the more twitchy 3 door.

This is the escos I was lucky enough to go in:

An RS500 is out of my price range as well. A really good one is £25k or so, more than double what this car cost. I'm gonna be careful in this, but I'd have to treat an RS500 with kidgloves, and I bought the car to go fast. :p

Insurance is £892 with Greenlight, which is pretty good for a 24 year old with everything declared. Although it is a 3000 mile limited policy I do have an agreed value and like for like on mods, track cover for £50 a day.:cool:

Vereeeeeeeeee nice. I drove a mates a number of years back for a month while he was in Spain, simply unbelievaby performance. What was really fun is that apart from the huge exhaust it had been modded to look almost like a normal Seirra. A Lotus Carlton in Milton Keynes was a little amazed to say the least :D

I've owned enough Sierras to know for sure that the inner wing and slam panel join are like that on almost every one of them :)

you just sound well jealous. dont forget its rwd, im surprised it doesnt just spontaneously combust

Not convinced by the wheels and I think these have not aged that well, but cracking bit of kit if you get a good, if somewhat 80's in their delivery ;)

awesome cars, a mates got a bright yellow 3 door, you might know it.

i nearly cream my pants when he takes me for a drive in it, the experience is much more brutal than that of a same hp evo for example. his is t34, 380ish hp.
