9800GTX 3D mark 06

It's pretty disappointing, i hope it doesn't make ati think they can slack off themselves.

it was a qx9650, i get 13500 with my 2900 and my q6600 at 3.6ghz (i think my 2900 was clocked at 840 core ram 900)

If you game on 22" or lower then I'd go 8800GT, if on 24" then I'd get the OCUK 8800GTX or the 3870X2 if you can find a cheap one

Running 1360x768 on HDTV. I like to use as much AA and AF as poss because of the screen being 27" and limited to 1360x768.

Both the GTX and 3870x2 are too long for my case. I'm thinking that if the 9800GTX is a rebadged GTS then buying a GTS should mean it'll last for while as it's the fastest card that'll fit in my case.

I can tell you from experience an 8800GT is awesome for that res, even for Crysis. :)

You might even be able to go slightly cheaper, I'm sure a 3870 would do just as well.

There should be a short 3870X2 out soonish, don't know the date, but i think it's roughly shorter that a 2900. There are some pics of it over on fudzilla, can't get the link though, i'm posting from my mobile
:p:D

Its ATi's turn this time, it was Nvidias last year, now 2008 is the year of ATi, I would not be surprised if they work together lol.

It's too tall for my case I'm afraid.

Yep, r600 has turned into something nice with rv670 and r680, aa problem seems to have disappeared on some me the latest benches, an 8800GT had more of an fps hit than a 3870 on a recent techpowerup review :D, was only a small fps difference mind. Still, getting a 3870X2 this week, and i'm really looking forward to what r700 brings.:p

Same I am looking forward to the R700, should be easilly beating NV, eyes off NV, eyes on ATi.

Soo, the 9800GTX isn't the next gen multi gpu card that is supposed to be going head to head with the R700?

This gets confusing

With the 9600GT about as powerful as an 8800GT I'm still hoping the 9800GTX will still run ahead a fair amount. -600 cards are always third tier after GTX and GT.

When was nVidia going to be releasing multi-GPU style cards in a vein that wasn't the 9800 GX2? It was R700 that was rumoured to be multi-core, not GT200.

There's a preview on techpowerup of the 9800GTX, source is expreview. Scores 14000 with a qx9xxx cpu at 3ghz, looks like it is just an overclocked gts :rolleyes:

Hmm, 700 less than my GT and £300 more (apparently). These 9 series really aernt looking that good, hope it proves better on release
