BMW drivers

Or they buy them because they are excellent cars.

I am better than most people regardless of what car I drive.

You just keep telling yourself that Scuzi ;)

Besides, all Micra drivers are inept menopausal women with no driving skills or spatial awareness. They're usually the aunt that never got married and never had any children, you know the sort. Men who drive a Nissan Micra are homosexual. FACT!

Good sum up of Micra drivers, this thread is going no where it's just going to be BMW drivers vs All slanging match. :D

Another stereotype...

lol. thought micras were more grandad cars. never seen a chav in one

I was heading home on the very busy M4 a few weeks back when a pair of headlights belonging to a silver Z4 came up behind me alarmingly close and proceeded to change lane rapidly , undertaking me and pulling in front of me cutting me up. He then repeated this behaviour to the next car and next car gradually working his way into the distance... his wife must have been in labour obviously.

3 Junctions latwr I see the same car embedded in the rear of another car on the hard shoulder

Bet his wife was livid ..

There are BMW owners out there that give the rest a bad name but it's the same for any car. Less often do you see Porsche or Mercedes owners ranting about "BMW drivers", it's usually those with crap cars who have the problem.

That just backs up my thoughts.. you don't think your average mondeo driver see's a focus driving like a *ss and thinks 'hey he's giving fords a bad name' ..NEVER HAPPENS

Why is BMW some kind of club where everyone is 'above' your average car owner and must behave to preserve the image (lol).. yes they are expensive new, but depreciate faster than a very fast thing letting poor people buy them...in turn fooling poor people they are in fact better off than they really are :-)

It's no different than your average spotty teenager crashing his Nova into halfords to spend his hard earnt wage he earnt chopping salad at macdonalds. He longs to appear 'more' than he really is..

BMW owners aren't above everyone else they just like to think so because Oh wow they've paid above average for a car, comedy really. Would be interesting to work at the BMW marketing dep. :D.

I had a BMW and a TVR at the same time.
I had a BMW and a Scooby 22B at the same time (briefly!).
I had a BMW and a Peugeot at the same time.
I had a BMW and an Alfa at the same time.
I had a BMW and an Audi at the same time.

This shows how generalisations and perceptions of such drivers, based on nothing more than the car they are sat in at any one time are simply idiotic with no foundation more often than not. TVR and Alfa drivers are often held up by other such fools as "good chaps" who appreciate the purity of their cars, yet I was the same bloke each time I drove any of them. That bloke was not someone who undertook, sat 5 feet from your bumper, raced around with his shades on and his window open while listening to some jiggy jiggy 'music', worked selling houses or thought £40K per annum was a well off wage and anyone who didn’t earn that much was to be derided, walked over or looked down on.

No question that many people who drive BMW’s buy them because they have odd aspirations or feel they need to be seen in one to fit in with their image, but in my experience the VAST majority of BMW drivers, especially in the newer ones buy them because they have driven several different types of car and simply prefer the BMW for what they seek, and improving their image is not one their reasons.

Have I ever sat in the outside lane of a motorway and flashed someone who has sat there for miles, with nothing inside them or without looking in their mirror during that time while in a BMW well yes, and while in about 10 others types of car too. Do I get nervous when I see a Muslim on an underground train with a ruck sack?

Spot on and well said.

A couple days ago I drove the works 320d and although the engine was ok, but I thought the interior was quite naff, the quaility certainly wasnt as good as I thought it should be and there were quite a few annoying things like the stupid arm rest which when down you can bearly pull up the handbrake, even my Nissan with its typically dodgy interior is better thought out. The heater thing was really annoying too, the heater was set to 30degs, so I lowered it to 20degs but it wouldnt budge until later I worked out you had to turn the wheel by the vents. I guess a 3 series is pretty low down in terms of whats available from BMW but is there dashboard options or something as the dash I thought was crud.

I did drive round for a bit without using my indicators for the novelty but I felt guilty pretty quickly so reverted back to using them :)

Correct. You are now a member of a more elite group of car owners if you own a bottom of the range Mondeo than 3 series....

Incorrect - total 3 Series sales included 4 variants of car - Coupe, Convertible, Saloon and Estate. Whereas the Mondeo is simply two types of car (Three if you count the saloon but clearly not different types), making it rather irrelevent that a pure family saloon cannot outsell the total sales of a saloon, coupe and a cabrio.

Oh and for those of you with your head under a rock or something I'd like to point out that my posts in this thread were heavily laced with sarcasm brought on by the thought of yet another 'lets stereotype BMW drivers and have a rant' thread.

Believe it or not some of us buy cars becuase we think they are excellent cars and we like them and not becuase we give a stuff about a car 'says' about someone. Honestly if my car had a Kia badge on it I'd not give a stuff if it was otherwise exactly the same product.

It's not our fault that the lower ranks of the range attract aspirational morons who think everyone will bow to their badge.
