Reasonably tempted, but is £195 so would need to go halves/quarters with someone as I doubt I'd use it that often.

I'd like a go on one of these. I'd prob be up for quarters if the other three were upstanding, honest members of society ;)

How does it work out your bhp and torque?

It'll measure acceleration, if you then tell it vehicle weight it can calculate the accelerative force (F=ma). If you also tell it wheel diameter or radius it'll be able to calculate torque at the wheels (Torque=F x radius). Based on vehicle speed and wheel diameter it'll also be able to work out the rpm of the wheel which combined with torque can give you power at the wheels.

In fact it's probably the case that the 2 instances of wheel diameter cancel out so it probably won't even need that information.

Does this device log anything or is it all instantaneous readouts? Some of the data could be useful for our sprinting if we can analyse it afterwards.

Yep according to the website it can log and you can hook it up to a PC. I'd be interested to try it but I probably wouldn't want to use it often enough to warrant buying it

My mates got one Muncher, they are really good- pretty damn accurate.

I got the same logging from vag-com.

The most important thing would be to get the car weighed with you in it for accurate bhp but 1/4 times etc.. is no problem!

Geek.

It logs it and you can get the graphs / details up with the software they provide.

It's also an awesome way to see if the mods you have done are improving anything. For example even if the g-tech is a little off... given the same details / road etc.. any increase will be accurate :)
