Great to see Hamilton putting in great times for the practise

Duke what happened to Williams in the first practise?

What the hell have you Red Bull boys been doing to Webber's car over the winter??

It's probably lower fuel loads, but I'd love it if that was pure pace :)

So, it would appear that the surprise package has to be Red Bull. They are right behind the McLarens.

I think we all knew that Ferrari would be the quickest out of the blocks. Ferrari's pre-season testing had shown this to be the case. So no surprise there.

I only hope that Hamilton/McLaren can try and compete against the Ferrari/Raikkonen combo as they look to be strong and I expect them to continue in the same vein as the 2nd half of last year (which is mighty impressive).

McLaren have put their full weight behind Hamilton now and as the season progresses, we shall see if this pays off. By losing Alonso, they have taken a big risk, as last year, Hamilton's weakness seemed to be setting up his car. Needless to say that I would've loved to see Hamilton Vs Alonso, round 2, but alas, it wasnt to be. :(

If they are up there in the race i don't think its a big surprise. They appear to spend there money very well getting the right people. Not doing a BAR/Toyota spending a fortune on overrated people.

I assume this is Coulthards last year so it would be nice to see what Vettel or whoever replaces him could do there now the old timers have put the work in getting a decent package together.

Inconclusive on Honda. They "seem" to be lower-mid pack, not tail enders as per last years.

If so, best start realistically for them.

Yep. Wait and see how they do in qualifying.

I have to say though, that they seem to be doing better than their pre-season form indicated.
