Bose Companion 5 does anyone have them?

Heard of them, and only ever heard a few BOSE products in my life. But it just clarified my opinion that BOSE are horrific products for the price you pay, using cheap components and poor designs, whilst justified themselves because of revolutionary 'insert fancy name' technology. A lot of people hate Bose for these reasons.
Just looked at this system, and
£279 for a 2.1 system. Jesus christ, I would recommend buying a second hand amp from the likes of NAD, CA, Rotel, Arcam, and some matching bookshelf speakers from Monitor Audio, B&W, mission, etc etc. That BOSE system will sound worse than something like the aego 2.1 setup found here on OCUK. Maybe try tham out at around £100.

Because you are trying to say it about BOSE?
Generally their products are a triumph of marketing over engineering and those in the know tend to refer to them as Buy Other Sound Equipment for reasons that are neatly descibed here:
