I've started playing Crysis today and I noticed that my 7800GTX gets up to 93c after an hour or so!!

On 3dMark and other games like cod4 it hits the low/mid 80's after a long time. Is that a safe temperature? Doesn't sound like it to me!

I had the card out only a few days ago to give it a clean. Didnt have any compressed air, just gave it a blow, didnt take it apart either but I don't really fancy taking it apart and removing heatsink and such.

It's always been a hot card but I don't think I've ever seen it this hot before, is this a problem or is Crysis just EXTREMELY demanding?

'tis demanding......and your card will run hot anyways.....think it is still in spec, though :)

welcome to Crysis mate

It owns everything unless you can throw money at your pc like a crack fuelled pie lobbing contest!

93degrees  - I guess you could use it to make tea....

put a little spit in....in rig kebab maker :D

Being sensible though, my X1950 ICEQ3 would hit 60-70 and that fan is a machine!!! its just a hugely demanding game, especially on old architecture.

Crysis is a killer in every way, it runs rubbish on sli and crossfire, it runs rubbish on multi core, it is rubbish, except it is quite pretty:rolleyes:

Ain't that the truth, unfortunately we are men and how many times have we put with **** from chicks coz they're pretty ;)

PS Am I delusional but I thought patch 1.2 addressed SLI and multicore? I had allready finished it before that patch came out and honestly that game has been been unistalled from my machine since end of last year
