Think I annoyed my neighbour

In the middle of a rough council estate in a terraced house. What difference does it make? Manners are manners and make a considerate neighbour regardless.

it was a joke that you missed, not a dig about where you actually live, i'll explain it if you want.

it's a hammer, through 2 cloth layers. I wouldn't even bat an eyelid if someone did that right now next door, if it was just 2 hits!

It's not exactly a gunshot.

Neighbours should be more tollerant! Let's put it that way round. None of this considerate rubbish!

I'm firmly in SpeedFreak's corner here.

Sorry, but what? I challenge you to relate any of that to what I've posted here. Go on.
I bet you live near a security guard who kicked your arse for playing your stereo too loud at 3am.

See my post edit, your post ( and this one again) is screaming all over: I want to knock you up, or see you knocked up.

I don't live near a security guard, I do live near some cops though ( 3 in my street), they all do nowt though...

I don't get kicked in my arse, because I'm not a voilent type, I just pretend agree to fools that would threaten me, regardless I've never come into a remotely hostile situation, and I avoid them.

I don't blow my stereo at 3 am, my parents would kick me out of the house if I did, and I have these things called headphones.

Also, what right has a security guard to knock me up? He'd get problems either the legal ways, or some less legal ways. I may not ever get confrontational, I will get dirty if I had a security guard threaten me next door and legal ways don't work.

this getting quite pety isnt it lol

It's inconsiderate if you ask me and I can guarantee you don't have kids of your own, or else you would have thought twice.

It was not inconsiderate in the sense that I considered other people and though about the noise but decided that my needs for that short time were greater tbh.

people should stop thinking they're always better than the other and just threaten everybody... I'm feeling his aggression to me, all I said is I disagree anyone should be asleep at 10 pm in summer... Yet he replys he'd confiscate someones property and( later)he hopes I've been kicked in my arse by his kind...

But it wasn't, you're doing the old chav thing of going 'I was only kidding' when you get called on something. Fact is, you shouldn't have been hammering your calliper when it would disturb other people, never mind coming on the internet and looking for sympathy. Reminds me of a lyric, goes 'I too thought that when proved wrong I lost somehow'. You don't lose anything, but you should be more considerate. I've maintained all my cars and bikes outside my terraced house for years, working a horrendous shift pattern without arousing their ire. I did it with a bit of forward planning and they reward me by doing the same. It's worth considering :) I'm not even going to try to decipher Snowdog's rant, he's quite tangled up in it. At the end of the day, if it was an emergency repair you could have made that clear and explained to your neighbour, not making out it was your right to hammer your brakes whenever you feel like.

I'm not ranting, I'm protesting your claims and posts...
eg. ''fact is'', that's no fact, that's your ( and several others) opinion.

Fine though I'll leave this, it's leading nowhere, I'll prolly ignore any further posts...

Stop provoking him then, since you're blowing your own trumpet and making yourself out to be "better". Go home

Back on topic:

What's a kid's wednesday schoolday compared to work that actually matters: money to be earned, to pay bills, and get parts for breaking cars

It's just a tap, even if it did disturb the kids, they'd just roll over + go back to sleep...

be fair here, just theoretically you have a one or two year old who you've just got off to sleep and they're woken up by the hammering which by speedfreaks own admission was audible a not just next door but a few doors away. you're the person who has to get your kids back to sleep. fixing his car was important but could have very easily have been done at 7pm when he got in from work before he had dinner etc.
