Hi,anybody know/care if an EK Supreme will fit on a P5Q deluxe,i,m fed up with banging my head against a brick wall with my 680i lt/quad combo:mad:

Hi,wasn`t sure if it would clear the big ass heatsink above the processor socket

Had a quick look at the P5Q thread over @ xtreme and there are plenty using the board with D-TEK block's so no prob's anyway its not like using some huge heatsink .

It will be fine - the new X-shaped S775 retention plate is much smaller than the old multi-way retention plate. The new plate actually sits inside the dimensions of the socket holes, so there really isn't any possibility of it hitting anything.

We are still discussing the EK Supreme aren't we? I've just checked my blocks current mount and it projects 12mm+ outside the mounting holes onmy current board

How many mounting holes does it have? The early ones only shipped with a multi-use plate that was gigantic (at least 12 mounting holes). The new ones have a much smaller star-shaped affair that is S775 only and has only 4 mounting holes.

There's nothing wrong with the multi-use plate. If it doesn't fit the P5Q then a new star-shaped one is about £4.50 from a water-cooling specialist.
